Our programs bring together ecological regeneration, cultural revival, and leadership development to create thriving, connected communities along the Nile.

We design and facilitate learning spaces that blend transformative worldviews, practical action, cultural exchange, and skills that empower communities to lead regenerative change.

Ecological Regeneration

We support communities in restoring degraded land, conserving water, and building sustainable food systems. This work blends indigenous land stewardship with regenerative techniques such as agro-forestry, permaculture, soil restoration, and climate-adaptive farming. Projects also strengthen food sovereignty and create sustainable livelihoods.

Regenerative Youth Development

We nurture the next generation of leaders to embody collaboration, peace-building, and innovation. Through cultural re-connection, skills-building, and participatory leadership training, young people develop the capacity to bridge divides, design community-led solutions, and take action for ecological and social regeneration.

We believe that how we work is as important as what we do. Each program is designed as a living process that nurtures relationships, strengthens community agency, and restores the systems that sustain life.

Our partners in Regeneration

Adapting Presencing Institute’s Theory U model to Africa’s context, Ubuntu.Lab fosters self-awakening and opens pathways for opportunity across the continent.

The Nile Journeys employs the Theory U and the iceberg model to design systemic interventions that shift perspectives from a worldview of ecological, social, and spiritual division towards one of deep connection.

Read more about the Nile journey's inception and evolution anchored on Theory U as a vehicle for catalyzing change, on the Ubuntu.Lab Impact story series here.

Taproot Earth advances climate justice by centering frontline communities in designing solutions for a sustainable and equitable future, while building networks that connect local struggles to global movements.

The Nile Journeys brings voices from Nile Basin frontline communities into wider climate justice discussions, contributes perspectives from our bio-regional network, and engages with Taproot Earth’s global network to amplify shared calls for action.

IPI promotes cultures of peace by supporting sustainable initiatives that improve livelihoods and enhance quality of life. Based in Kenya, its Tiriji Eco-Center serves as a living model of community resilience, sustainability, and regenerative practice.

International Peace Initiative plays an active role in shaping Nile Journeys’ direction and grounding its work in on-the-ground realities and community experience. In collaboration with Nile Journeys, IPI has built a community center, hosted practical trainings on youth development, and gender equity. We have also partnered on water access and land regeneration projects.

Fili Coffee is a social café in Ethiopia that serves as a gathering space to inspire and empower people to pursue their ambitions. It offers more than specialty coffee, creating an environment for connection, learning, and cultural exchange.

Fili Coffee hosts a monthly gathering 'Respect Your Thought' connecting the community with inspiring individuals, an initiative the Nile Journeys supported to encourage dialogue and learning.

Rusinga Island Organic Farmers Association (RIOFA)

RIOFA is a social enterprise dedicated to serving as both a model and a learning center for regenerative farming and sustainable business practices on Rusinga Island.

In partnership with Nile Journeys, RIOFA has built a community center, advanced organic farming, and collaborated on water access initiatives. Together, we have worked on strengthening local livelihoods while demonstrating the potential of regenerative agriculture to restore ecosystems and empower communities.
